The Bride & Her Vision
It was such a joy working with Zina (@thatszina), a well-loved influencer with a clear vision for her wedding look. From the very beginning, she knew she wanted something bold, unique, and deeply personal for her tea ceremony and first look. Her vision started with a very specific shade of teal — and that became the foundation of her cheongsam. A colour that immediately set the tone for her first look: bold, vibrant, and unique.

Designing the Silhouette
Zina worked closely with our in-house designer, Putri, to explore different silhouettes and necklines. Together, they decided on a halter mermaid cut — a style that perfectly complemented her figure while still feeling modern and fresh. To make her cheongsam truly stand out, our designer suggested incorporating contrasting lace, adding colour, texture, and personality to the gown. Zina was open and collaborative throughout the process, which made the entire journey such a joy for all of us.
The Artistry of the Gown
What made this gown truly unforgettable were the thoughtful design details tailored for Zina. Below, we’ll take a closer look at these details and how they came together to make her cheongsam uniquely hers.
1. TWO STYLES, ONE CHEONGSAM
To give Zina’s cheongsam both versatility and flair, we created a detachable train that added grandeur and drama for her first look. When removed, it revealed the sleek mermaid silhouette beneath — allowing her to enjoy two unique styles in one gown.
2. Vibrant Lace Accents & Beadwork
The standout feature was the bold peacock-inspired lace, hand-sewn and intricately beaded onto the gown, surrounded by colourful contrasting flowers. Each piece was carefully placed to add colour, texture, and vibrancy, creating a design as unique and lively as Zina herself.
3. Refined Back Detail
We designed a graceful keyhole back for the cheongsam, framed with colourful lace and delicate beadwork. A playful tassel completes the look which blends traditional charm with a modern, contemporary touch.
4. Flattering Cutouts
To accentuate Zina’s figure, we incorporated subtle cutouts along the waist, traced with fine beading for extra detail. This gave the gown a cinched effect, highlighting her curves while maintaining a balanced, elegant silhouette.
The Bespoke Experience
Working with Zina was both a rewarding and wonderful reminder of what bespoke truly means. It’s about creating a gown that speaks to a bride’s individuality, from colour and silhouette down to the smallest detail. With Zina’s openness and our designer's expertise, the result was a cheongsam that was as unique as her story.
